My Christmas Splurge
On Christmas Eve, I was awaken by the sound of my alarm clock buzzing in the other room. I stumbled in the dark to turn it off. As I walked back to the bed, I thought about everything I wanted to do that day. I knew that I wanted to wash my hair and I had to go to work at 2:30pm. And I wanted to call my parentals to wish them a Merry Christmas. So when I plopped back in the bed, I laid there for 5 minutes feeling guilty in advance for not getting everything I planned accomplished. So I got up and to get ready to wash my hair and I get preoccupied with other things like getting my *NSync Christmas CD to play. After 30 minutes of failure, I go to the bathroom and begin to comb down my hair. As I look at my hair, I realize that my hair isn't really all that dirty and I didn't want to make myself up for the people at work. I realized that I was trying to prove that I can dress up and be pretty. Lately I have been looking like a stepchild at work. None of my clothes match and my hair is always looking bad. So I get dressed to go to Wal-Mart to buy minutes to call the parentals. As I drive to Wal-Mart, a little voice says, "Go to DSW!" So my car goes towards 71st & Memorial. When I get to DSM, I don't have that electric feeling I usually feel when I am near my nirvana. I walk in the store and go straight to the clearance racks. I don't really see anything that I like so I look at the retail shoes and didn't see anything I liked there. So I go back to the clearance racks and begin to choose some decent shoes (I was looking for boots). I see some O.K. looking shoes and I attempt to try them on. They were too narrow. Every shoe I tried on was narrow. I was starting to feel like a Klump. Then I found these cute gray knit stillettos. I was on the verge of buying them when I realized that I didn't have anything to wear with them. To make a long story short, I bought 3 pairs of shoes which totaled $116. Then I went to Wal-Mart to buy the phone minutes. As I walked in the store, I remembered that I needed needles and thread to sow the rip in the back of my coat. After I got the thread and needles, I happened upon one of my favorite movies...THE MUMMY. It was a collectors item where the entire trilogy was offered. I didn't like the Scorpion King but I love the Mummy and the Mummy 2. So I picked that up. Then something possessed me and I went to the bedding section. I picked up the other rug for the bathroom. Then I got a sheet for the bed. When I got the sheet, I saw the most beautiful quilt so I got that. Both of the sets are red. The comforter is red and white. With the comforter, I got two pillow shams. With pillow shams, what comes next? Pillows! So I bought two new pillows. As I am getting the sheets, I see a pillow case for a body pillow. A body pillow is exactly what lays on my bed everyday, so I bougtht it. As I was leaving the bedding section, I happened upon the bathroom section and saw the most adorable shower curtain. It was cloth with a liner. The color(s) is blue and gold with glittery gold liners. It is so beautiful, so I had to buy it. And since I just got 12 scented tealight candles, I needed to buy a tealight candleholder. Then since I had bought up the entire store, I decided to make the move to purchase a....vacuum cleaner. I bought a vacuum cleaner! It wasn't the bagless but it is a big real vacuum. With the vacuum, I had to buy vacuum bags. Then I remembered that I wanted to buy juice since the beginning of the week. So by the time I checked out, my total was $160! What was I thinking???? I still need to pay my electric and telephone bill! I think I got like $150 left or something like that so that goes solely on the electric. I am not too worried because I have been working my butt of with overtime so my next two checks will be sufficient for me. And my refund check from the gov'ment will pay for the New York trip and help pay Candace off. Right now, my only concern is graduating on time. My dad doesn't want me to stay during the summer. He misses me! He won't come right out and say it but I can tell when he talks to me. I tell you, I am learning so much about men by dealing with my daddy whom I love so much. Well, that's all I wanted to talk about right now. Talk to you later. Bye
