Adventures in decorating 7825 S. Wheeling

Since my last entry, I feel as though I shouldn't continue the "Men of my Life" segment. I feel as though I am exposing too much about myself. I know that is what this page is about..but some things should be kept a mystery. Besides, many of those guys would be just bragging or reminiscing about that particular time. So I will continue on considering my feelings in regards to that subject. So let's talk about something different like....what I did on Saturday, February 18, 2005.
I went shopping again!!! It has become a habit with me. I LOVE shopping for my apartment. I get such a thrill about doing it. It also motivates me to keep my place clean. Anyways, Takeyla, Tanya and I went to Garden Ridge 'cause they were having a sale. I had never even heard of the place until I saw the sales paper in Subrina's purse. I love sales papers. So checked out the paper and saw that they had pillows on sale for $3.99. I wanted some pillows to fill up those extra pillow shams and pillow cases on my bed. When we got there, I saw an abundance of candles on sale for $1.00. I got one that was citrus because the others did not have a smell. We then moved through the little nick-nacks and Takeyla got these cute little moneys that symbolized "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". They were so adorable. I was going to get them but I didn't want to copy her. We continued on and she saw the 'bed-in-a-bag' section and started looking there. Tanya was looking at the decorative pillows. I was just floating around until I saw the cutest pillow. It was red and white with the word 'STOP' stitched on the front. It had the same decorum as my bedspread so I grabbed it. Then I saw that the sale was 'buy-one-get-one-half-off' so I grabbed another STOP pillow. Now that I look back on it, I don't know why I grabbed two of the same pillow. Tanya and I continued on and I saw the greatest thing ever.... A stainless steel pot/pan set for only $19.99! I had been looking everywhere for some pots and I finally found them. I was so happy. I then saw my pillows and grabbed them. I figured I was done but we decided to look around the ENTIRE store 'cause Tanya was looking for some lamps for her bedroom. She saw some of the cutest lamps and began grabbing them. After the lamp fiasco, Takeyla happened upon a 4-tier bookcase for $10.00! She immediately grabbed one which edged me on to do the same. Then we saw the most beautiful thing ever....a dining room set! Who would've thunk that I would find my dining room set there? I wasn't even looking for it. I just happened upon it. It is burgundy wood with four chairs. The wood is sturdy and is only $199.00. I was so in love so I decided to buy it. I am going to pay my electric and phone and use the rest to buy the table. Now I have a place to eat and I don't have to get my computer all dirty with food. I am so excited. Friday night, Takeyla and I went to Wal-Mart and saw a 20'' television for only $88.00. I am so excited about my place. It is turning out great! You all should come by and check it out. One day I am going to take pictures and post them on here so everyone can see.
I am scheduled to graduate in July! I have three summer classes but we all know how I ace those 'cause they are so much easier than that 12-week plan. All's I gotta do know is find out about Personality Development and I am in the clear. And the question of the century is: What am I going to do after graduation? I am going to move back to Chicago and get active in the church. I am going to pursue my Master's and PhD in counseling psychology. I prayed about it and God laid upon my heart the Word He gave me back in November. It was the time I went home for the wedding. At the afternoon service, Bishop called me and told me that those radical views on evangelism were given to me by God and I was to organize and take the land. So I know what his Will is for me. I told him that I needed my own place...my own Psalms 91 palace and he said that he would give it to me. So I don't have to move back in with Arthur and Darlene...or Candace. I can have my own place! Then folks can come over. Now the question is: Where in the world will I live? I want a nice place, not some Southside of Chicago dump. But for right now, I must concentrate on graduating...and decorating my place with furniture. I can say that everything in my house, I bought with my own money (except that current table and chairs). Anywhoo, talk to you later.
